Solar Tree designed by one of what I consider, most respectful and visionary Designers, represents crossroads between technology, materials, science and organic form, being one example of a possible future of street light.
The green stems have LED lit solar pad’s that gently glow to illuminate the night, being controlled by artificial intelligence which allows the LED lights being switched on automatically when night falls beside balancing the light intensity, depending on the batteries energy level and the natural night-light conditions.
This project is an example how renewable energy and its future can be implement in our urban landscape.
The first time I saw this project was actually while I was still taking my degree.
I had the opportunity to see this project in a conference in Portugal, where some members of the Spanish design company Stone Designs presented it…and since then, I never forgot it!
This concept of seat is a great example how Nature can inspire us not only aesthetically but also how it operate. Naturally inspired in a Beehive, this seat symbolises the importance of teamwork, each seat depends on another to keep upright and of course the hexagonal shape allows to add many units as we want in any direction, making it adaptable in any space.
The Venus Project is an organization started by self-educated structural engineer, industrial designer, and futurist Jacque Fresco.
This project is a Veritable blueprint for the genesis of a new world civilization, one that is based on human concern and environmental reclamation, that aims to restructure society around the world, through the use of a theoretical project that he calls a resource-based economy. A version of sustainable cities, energy efficiency, natural resource management and advanced automation, with a global socio-economic system based on social cooperation and scientific methodology.
